In 1963, Ram€n Capella founded a company to produce specially-designed products and installations for the vacuum technology sector. He called the company Telstar, as at the time the satellite Telstar had been launched into space and he thought it was a good name for a company which would always search out new paths to explore.
Subsequently new, mass-produced products, equipment, customised installations and turnkey projects were developed.
Today, Telstar forms a solid group of companies which has a turnover of approximately 53 million Euro, exporting 50% of its sales to companies around the world. With 450 employees, most of them with university degree, Telstar constitutes one of the most competitive options on the market.
IMA-Telstar, S.L. is a 50-50% joint-venture between Telstar, S.A. and IMA Industria Macchine Automatiche, S.p.A. It has been created in 2005 and it is the result of the spin off of the freeze dryer and vacuum dryer manufacturing activity of Telstar Industrial, S.L.
IMA is an Italian company leader in the manufacturing of process and packaging equipment for the pharmaceutical industry.
Among IMA-Telstar's goals there is the development of a complete range of freeze dryer loading and unloading solutions.
