he Sankyo Pharma Research Institute (SPRI), established in 1998, is the San Diego-based division of Sankyo Pharma Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Sankyo Co., Ltd., one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Japan.
SPRI's Mission
As we enter the 21st century, effective cures have yet to be found for a great number of serious diseases. Sankyo seeks to contribute to people's health across the globe by developing innovative new pharmaceuticals to treat these diseases.
Profile
SPRI functions as the global arm of Sankyo's research activities, seeking to find and build strong business relationships with biotechnology firms and research institutes for joint research projects. Through such contacts, SPRI explores new technologies and innovative compounds, and proposes early-stage research alliances to the Sankyo Research Institute in Japan.
