RNA Chemistry meets Biology September 29-30, 2006
Lund University, Sweden
The aim of this EUCHEM-conference is to put focus on current front line research in the RNA field. An important issue is to expose the importance of chemically modified RNA molecules in order to understand RNA acting as catalyst in living organism. They also help us to apply oligonucleotides in in vitro and in vivo assay systems for gene functional analysis as well as being a potential therapeutics. The RNA field is a rapidly growing arena and the time seems to be ready to discuss what contribution chemists have played and importantly can play in the future. Therefore, a dialogue between the two fields, chemistry and biology, looks like the right basis for a stimulatory ?get-together? event to make both sides aware of what the needs and what the chances are in the near future.
By bringing together internationally leading scientists to present recent results and to discuss and exchange ideas, we hope to create an attractive forum for both chemists, biologists, senior and young researchers in this important field of research and development.
