ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a process for freeze drying of especially biologically or pharmaceutical material under sterile conditions, wherein the material to be dried is introduced into a container the sides of which consist at least partly of a hydrophobic, porous, micro-organism-impermeable, water vapour-permeable membrane, the container is tightly closed and the material is subsequently freeze dried in the closed container under the usual conditions.
The present invention also provides a container for freeze drying materials under sterile conditions, wherein the sides of the container consist at least partly of a hydrophobic, porous, germ-impermeable, water vapour-permeable membrane.
