Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a physiologically active composition containing Sparassis crispa and enabling the commercial supply of Sparassis crispa known to have usefulness.
SOLUTION: Ethyl alcohol is added to the powder produced by freeze-drying the fruit body of Sparassis crispa (product of Unitika Ltd.), and stirred at normal temperature to effect the solvent treatment of Sparassis crispa. The residue is recovered by filtration and the recovered residue is dried to obtain a Sparassis crispa composition. The physiologically active composition contains the obtained product as an active component. The physiological activity is preferably antitumor activity, blood sugar level regulating activity, antihyperlipemic activity, antiallergic activity or antihypertension activity.
