Polio Vaccine: The First 50 Years and Beyond, is a conference of the International Association for Biologicals (IABs).
The program includes two full days of international speakers examining topics such as the status of polio vaccines, risk assessment, regulations, post-eradication strategies, and visions for the future.
In addition, a series of special events has been scheduled to welcome attendees.
They include a tour of the historic Connaught Campus of sanofi pasteur, a reception with the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and the presentation of the prestigious Jonas Salk Award.
The International Association for Biologicals Conference will:
? discuss the regulatory infrastructure related to the manufacture of polio vaccine;
? examine methods for improving the distribution and storage of polio vaccine worldwide to prolong its shelf life; and
? inform members of the international medical community of the latest data, research and techniques available.
