Abstract:
The present application relates to a fermentation unit comprising a source of cryogenic liquid (20) , a first heat exchanger (21) connected to said source of cryogenic liquid, a second heat exchanger (23) connected to a source of water (24) and means (26, 27) for circulating a heat transfer liquid between said first and second heat exchangers to cool the water in the second heat exchanger. The chilled water is used for dissipating the heat generated in the fermentation vessel (22) . The fermentation unit can be connected to other units using cryogenic liquid, for example a cryocooling system, a lyophilization unit, a cryogrinding system or an inerting and blanketing unit.
