2nd Conference on Optimising Drug Delivery and Formulation Nov 20-23, 2005 France
2nd Conference on Optimising Drug Delivery and Formulation
Nov 20-23, 2005
Versailles ? France
Objectives
The main objectives of this conference are not only to give tools for a safer and more efficient formulation, but also to present new physico-chemical techniques, which can be used in this perspective. The evaluation can deal with:
The progress of formulation at its different stages;
The study of excipient, conjugate and drug delivery system characteristics, bioavailability, absorption, safety, stability, etc.;
The assessment of dermal, epthelial, tissular, cellular, nuclear permeation;
All the physico-chemical and biological techniques used for such assessments: microscopic, thermal, spectral, rheological and structural studies as well as cell cultures.
Key Topics and Issues
How can in silico methods drive valuable formulation?
To what extent can in vitro methods be accepted by health authorities?
What are the key points to control in drug delivery systems for the different routes?
Are there true new technologies or only up-dated methods?
Are the in vitro/in vivo correlations pure utopia?
What alternative to in vivo studies?
New cell lines for specific assays.
Breakout Sessions
There will be a number of break out sessions. Examples of topics are:
Optimising predictive evaluation tests
Cell models stimulating biological tissues
Oral and poster contributions
Scientific contributions relating to the conference scope and aim will be welcome and considered either for oral or poster presentations.
Oral contributions will be selected among all the contribution abstracts received. They will focus more specifically on the evaluation (at any level of the formulation) of drug delivery systems devoted to the following administration routes: oral/gastro-intestinal, dermal/transdermal, mucosal, and on that of carrier systems. Registration fee will be waived for the main author (speaker) of the selected oral contributions.
Abstracts should be submitted to the EUFEPS Secretariat, both as an email attachment and as a hard copy with indication of a wish for oral presentation. For submission deadline and editorial instructions, see the Second Announcement of this Conference, which will be circulated in early spring 2005, and be posted on the EUFEPS Online and the APGI Website.
Exhibition
Companies are invited to exhibit at the conference. For information on layout, costs, etc., as well as an exhibition registration form please contact the EUFEPS Secretariat or the APGI Secretariat. Special discount will be allowed to companies having already exhibited at PharmSciFair (www.pharmscifair.org).
Additional Information
Updated information on this conference will be posted here and on the APGI Website (www.apgi.org). Alternatively, contact the EUFEPS Secretariat or the APGI Secretariat (addresses below) for copies of announcements, the preliminary programme, registration form and hotel reservation form. Also inform your colleagues about the Conference, telling them about it and/or forwarding electronic or other material to them.
